Tips

  • Make sure to squeeze out all of the liquid from the spinach before adding it to the dip. This will prevent the dip from becoming runny.
  • Use your favorite brand of mayonnaise and sour cream. I like to use real mayonnaise and sour cream, but you can use light versions if you prefer.
  • Add more or less of the seasonings to taste. I like to add a little extra garlic powder and onion powder, but you can adjust the seasonings to your own liking.
  • Chill the dip before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and the dip will be thicker.

Easy Spinach Dip With Water Chestnuts




Ingredients:

  • 10 to 12 ounce package of frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounce jar or can sliced water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 4 ounce jar diced pimientos (pimentos), drained
  • your favorite chips, crackers and/or vegetables for serving

Directions:

1. Cook frozen chopped spinach according to package directions.
2. Place it into a colander and rinse under cold water.
3. Drain and then squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Place on paper towels to dry.
4. In a bowl, add remaining ingredients.
5. Stir together until well combined and then set aside.
6. Chop your spinach.
7. Add it to your mixture and stir well.
8. Chill it covered in the refrigerator before serving.
9. Serve with your favorite chips, crackers or veggies.
