Wendy's Chili


This delicious chili recipe is a copy cat version of the famous Wendy's Chili.




Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1, 29 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1, 29 ounce can kidney beans, with liquid
  • 1, 29 ounce can pinto beans, with liquid
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced green chili peppers
  • 1/4 cup diced celery
  • 3 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions:

In a skillet, add the ground beef.
Brown this over medium heat. Drain any excess liquid.
In a large soup pot, add the browned beef and the remaining ingredients except for the cheese.
Stir together well.
Bring this to a simmer over low heat.
Continue cooking this for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every 15 minutes.
Serve topped with shredded cheddar cheese (optional).
