This recipe takes just a few ingredients and it makes canned green beans taste delicious!
Ingredients:
1/4 of a medium yellow onion
1/4 pound of sliced bacon
3 (14.50 ounces) cans green beans with liquid
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
Take 1/4 of a medium yellow onion and either dice it or cut into small petals. Set aside.
Take 1/4 pound of sliced bacon and cut into thirds.
Place bacon into a 2 quart saucepan and cook over medium heat until the bacon is lightly brown, but not crisp.
Pour in 3 cans of green beans with liquid.
Add sugar, salt and black pepper.
Stir together well.
Add yellow onion on top.
Cover with a lid and bring to a light boil.
Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for about 35 - 45 minutes.
