Halloween Chocolate Mice
Ingredients:
- Hershey Kisses
- Maraschino Cherries (with stems)
- Dipping Chocolate (such as almond bark, semi-sweet morsels, milk chocolate morsels, etc)
- Sliced Almonds
- Colored Icing
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
- Unwrap some Hershey Kisses and set aside.
- Drain maraschino cherries on paper towels. Make sure the cherries have stems as the stem is the tail of the mouse.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt some dipping chocolate in the microwave. You could also melt the chocolate in a double boiler on the stove.
- Dip the whole cherry into the chocolate by holding on to the stem or tail.
- Place the dipped cherry onto the wax paper on its side.
- While the chocolate is still soft and gooey, gently press the bottom of a Hershey Kiss into the chocolate on the cherry. The pointy part should be sticking out.
- Place two sliced almond pieces between the chocolate kiss and the cherry for the ears.
- Repeat the process with the rest of the cherries.
- Using colored icing, pipe on eyes and a nose. You may use any color you like.
- Repeat process for the remaining cherries.
