Broccoli Salad


This is a great salad for family get-togethers, potlucks or for anytime.




Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb bacon, crumbled
  • 5 to 6 cups bite-sized, fresh (not frozen), broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup red onions, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mayonnaise

Directions:

In a skillet, fry 1/2 lb bacon. Drain and then crumble it. Set aside.
Cut enough fresh broccoli to make 5 to 6 cups.
Rinse broccoli and completely dry.
In a large bowl, add broccoli, red onion, crumbled bacon and cheese.
In a small bowl, add vinegar, sugar and mayonnaise. Stir well.
Pour this over the broccoli mixture.
Toss this all together until it's mixed thoroughly.

This tastes even better the next day.
