Cheeseburger Rice


This is a quick and easy main dish that is made in one skillet.




Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups uncooked, instant rice
  • 2 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

In a skillet, add your ground beef and onion.
Brown over medium-high heat and then drain off any excess liquid.
Then add water, ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper.
Stir this together and then bring it to a boil.
Add rice and stir together.
Cover with a lid and remove it from the heat.
Let stand for 5 minutes.
Remove the lid and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Cover again with the lid and let the cheese melt.
