Expert Tips for the Best 4th of July Trifle

  • Allow Time to Chill: Let the trifle set in the refrigerator for several hours. This allows the flavors to meld and helps the cream cheese layers firm up for a clean scoop.
  • Use a Clear Trifle Bowl: To truly show off the red, white, and blue layers, use a straight-sided glass bowl or a traditional pedestal trifle dish.
  • Dry Your Berries: After washing, pat your strawberries and blueberries completely dry with a paper towel. This prevents excess juice from bleeding into the white cream layer.
  • Make-Ahead Tip: You can assemble this the night before, but for the best texture, add the final fruit garnish just before serving to keep it looking fresh.
