Tips, Tricks and Substitutions On How To Make Slow Cooker Chocolate Pumpkin Spoon Cake
Even Mixing: When combining the ingredients, mix until just combined. Overmixing can result in a denser cake.
Cooking Time: Since slow cookers can vary in temperature, check your cake around the 3 hour mark. You want it to be set in the center but still soft and spoonable.
The edges will be firm. If you cook it too long, it might dry out.
Let It Rest Before Serving - Once it's done cooking, let it sit in the slow cooker for about 10 minutes before scooping it out. This helps it set up just a
little more without losing that delicious texture.
Chocolate Chip Variations: Experiment with different types of chocolate chips. Dark chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, or even peanut butter chips would be delicious.
Nutty Twist: Add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, to the batter for added texture and flavor.
Coffee Kick: Replace 1/4 cup of the water with strong brewed coffee for a mocha twist.
