Ingredients
- Hershey’s Kisses
- Maraschino Cherries (with stems)
- Dipping Chocolate (such as almond bark, semi-sweet morsels, milk chocolate morsels, etc)
- Sliced Almonds
- Decorating Icing
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
- Unwrap some Hershey's Kisses and set aside.
- Drain maraschino cherries on paper towels. Make sure the cherries have stems, since the stems will become the mouse tails.
- Melt some dipping chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave. Alternatively, melt the chocolate in a double boiler on the stove.
- Holding a cherry by its stem, dip the entire cherry into the melted chocolate.
- Place the dipped cherry on its side on the wax paper.
- While the chocolate is still soft, gently press the flat bottom of a Hershey's Kiss against the chocolate-covered cherry, leaving the pointed end facing outward.
- Place two sliced almond pieces between the chocolate kiss and the cherry to make the ears.
- Repeat with the remaining cherries and chocolate kisses.
- Using decorating icing, pipe eyes and a nose onto each mouse. Use any colors you like.

Helpful Tips for Best Results
Keep the cherry stems: They become the little mouse tails.
Pat the Cherries Completely Dry: Use paper towels to remove excess liquid before dipping. Moisture causes chocolate to seize and prevents it from sticking.
Work Quickly: Attach the Hershey's Kiss and almond ears immediately after dipping before the chocolate shell sets.
Prepare ingredients first: Have unwrapped kisses and sliced almonds ready before dipping.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make these chocolate mice ahead of time?
Yes! You can assemble these up to 2 days in advance. Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Why won't my chocolate stick to the cherries?
If the cherries are damp, the liquid repels the warm chocolate. Ensure you pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels prior to dipping.
