Double Dipped Pretzel Rods
Ingredients:
- 20 to 30 pretzel rods
- 14 ounce bag of caramels, unwrapped
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1 bag of chocolate candy melts (you may also use almond bark or chocolate chips)
- sprinkles, mini M&M's, crushed Heath bars, etc (optional, for decorating)
Directions
- Unwrap caramels and place into a microwave safe bowl.
- Add milk and microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, or until melted. After each minute, check on it and stir.
- Once melted, place mixture into a coffee mug to make dipping easier.
- Dip each pretzel rod into melted caramel. Cover anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 of the pretzel.
- Place dipped pretzel onto parchment paper to let cool and set up.
- In another microwave safe bowl, add chocolate candy melts and microwave for 2 - 3 minutes, or until melted. Check on it every 30 seconds or so and stir.
- Once melted, transfer mixture to a coffee mug.
- Dip your caramel coated pretzels into the melted chocolate.
- Decorate with sprinkles, mini M&M's, crushed Heath Bars or whatever you like.
- Lay pretzel rods on parchment paper to let the chocolate harden.
- You can wrap these in Saran Wrap or pretzel bags to store or to give as gifts.
