A great recipe to make really delicious french toast. Super easy to throw together!
Ingredients:
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cinnamon
4 eggs
2/3 cup whole milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 - 3 tbs butter
6 - 7 slices of thickly sliced bread (bread a few days old is better than fresh)
Optional toppings: butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar, etc.
Directions:
In a bowl, add the flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon.
Whisk together and then set aside.
In another bowl, add the eggs and whisk together.
Then add the milk and vanilla.
Whisk this together well.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients and whisk together until well combined.
Heat a large skillet or griddle.
Once hot, add 1 tbs of butter.
Dip each slice of bread into the batter for about 30 seconds on each side.
Place the dipped slice of bread onto the hot skillet or griddle and cook until golden brown on each side.
Continue cooking remaining slices of bread. You may need to add more butter to the skillet or griddle, if necessary.
Serve with butter, maple syrup or powdered sugar.
