Stuffed Pepper Soup

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
8 cups beef broth
2, 14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes
1, 29 oz can tomato sauce
1/2 cup uncooked, long-grain rice
2 cups chopped green bell pepper
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper

Directions
In a 6 to 8 quart saucepan, add ground beef and onion.
Brown this over medium high heat and then drain off any excess liquid.
Then add beef broth, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, green bell pepper, brown sugar and black pepper.
Stir together and then bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat, cover and let simmer for 35 - 40 minutes.
