Frosted Banana Bars |
Ingredients Bars: 1/2 cup butter 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 1 1/2 cups mashed, ripe bananas 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon salt Frosting: 1/2 cup butter 1, 8 ounce, package cream cheese 4 cups confectioners sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Directions Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Take a 15 x 10 baking pan and spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside. In a mixing bowl, add butter and sugar. Beat together until smooth and creamy. Next, beat in eggs, one at a time. Add the mashed bananas and vanilla. Beat together. In another bowl, add the flour, baking soda and salt. Whisk this together. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix together until well combined. Pour the mixture into your prepared pan. Bake in the oven for about 22 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes our clean. Remove from oven and place onto a wire rack to cool. To make the frosting, in a mixing bowl add the butter and cream cheese. Beat this together until light and fluffy. Gradually add the confectioners sugar and vanilla and beat together well. Evenly spread the frosting over the top of the bars. |
