Ingredients 2 sticks butter 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup water 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate morsels 3/4 cup crushed pecans Directions In a heavy saucepan, add butter, sugar, water and salt. Using a candy thermometer, cook mixture to the hard crack stage (300 degrees). Stir constantly and keep your eye on it. Make sure you have an accurate candy thermometer because this burns very easily. Immediately pour mixture into un ungreased 13x9 pan and spread out evenly. Pour 3/4 cup of semi-sweet or milk chocolate morsels over the mixture. As the morsels melt, spread them evenly with a knife or spatula. Sprinkle crushed pecans on top. Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour or until it is setup. Remove from pan onto wax paper and break into pieces to serve. Store in an air-tight container. |
