Baked Pecan French Toast |
Ingredients 4 large eggs 1 cup milk 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 6 slices texas toast (or any thick slices of bread) 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1/2 cup chopped pecans Directions Take a 9 x 13 glass dish and spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside. In a mixing bowl, add eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Whisk together until well combined. Place bread slices, in a single layer, in the bottom of the prepared dish. Evenly pour the egg mixture over the bread. Turn the bread slices over. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours or preferably overnight. Then remove from the refrigerator and take off the plastic wrap. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Evenly drizzle the melted butter over the top. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Then remove from oven and sprinkle on the chopped pecans. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the pecans are browned. Be careful not to burn them. Serve with maple syrup or your favorite toppings. |
