A great recipe to make really delicious french toast. Super easy to throw together!
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cinnamon
2/3 cup whole milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 - 3 tbs butter
6 - 7 slices of thickly sliced bread (bread a few days old is better than fresh)
Optional toppings: butter, syrup, powdered sugar, etc.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon. Set aside.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs.
Then add milk and vanilla.
Whisk together well.
Combine wet and dry ingredients and whisk together until well combined.
Heat a large skillet or griddle.
Once hot, add 1 tbs of butter.
Dip each slice of bread into batter for about 30 seconds on each side.
Place onto skillet or griddle and cook until golden brown on each side.
Continue cooking remaining slices of bread. You may need to add more butter to the skillet or griddle, if necessary.
Serve with butter, syrup or powdered sugar.
